What kind of grants are available?


The main groups who award grants are:

» the Government
» the European Commission
» regional development agencies
» local authorities or local councils and local development agencies
» Chambers of Commerce
» County Enterprise Boards

Some European and UK government funding is distributed through regional development agencies, colleges and the Learning and Skills Council.

The following indicates the key areas of government support available.

Research and development, and innovation

Access to knowledge

Training

The New Deal

Young entrepreneurs


Anyone unemployed or employed in a part-time or low-paid job, aged between 18-30 and with an idea for a business, can apply for funds to the Prince's Trust. Discover if you are eligible for start-up support on the Prince's Trust website.

Economic regeneration
